October 2005: Charles Bridge (Karluv Most)            Prague, The Czech Republic
 

This beautiful arch bridge crosses the River Vlatava in Prague.  The Stare Mesto side bridge tower is visible at the far right and featured below.  Construction of this bridge began in 1357 under King Charles IV and finished after the turn of the century.  Various stalls and street performers occupy the bridge, often crowded with tourists, shown below.  The bridge is also known for its statuary.  The one featured here is of the founders of the Trinitarian Order, showing three of the persecuted Christian souls that they freed.
