The 1927
Nissen Building in Winston-Salem held sway as North Carolina's tallest
building from 1927 through 1929 and originally had a miniature golf course
in its basement. It was built by William Nissen, owner of Nissen
Wagon Works, a company dating back to 1787. Its main material is
buff brick set in Flemish bond, with ornamentation comprised of limestone,
granite and marble. |
