Mount Holly was a Quaker settlement founded in 1676, and is now the county seat of Burlington County.  This image is of a replica of the original sculpture of the Greek goddess of Youth, Hebe, that graced Mount Holly's Fountain Square from from 1878 to 1920.  Interestingly, the Encyclopedia of New Jersey claims that the town's fire company, the Relief Fire Company formed in 1752, is the oldest continuous one in the United States; the TourBurlington.com website notes that Burlington's Endeavor Fire Company, formed in 1795, is the oldest fire company in New Jersey operating under the same name.  Mount Holly saw action during the Revolution, and was temporarily the state's capital in 1779.
