San Francisco

388 Market Street in San Francisco is a modern steel and glass version of the flatiron building.  Built in 1987 and designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill, its granite skin gives it is reddish color.  It is shown here reflecting its neighbor and to the far right, the curved rear of the building.  Skidmore Owings and Merrill were its architect.
San Francisco

The Phelan Building (1908) at 760-784 Market Street to the immediate right is another example of the convenience of the iron-shaped building in San Francisco.  To the far right it the San Francisco's eponymous Flatiron Building (1913) at 540-548 Market Street.
