The Chicago Building is shown here from different angles to emphasize the Chicago window and bays, and the different appearance of this building, depending upon the viewpoint.  Built 1904-05, it has a red terra cotta surface and metal frame construction.

The Marquette Building, named for the missionary-explorer Jacques Marquette, was built in 1895, with an addition put on in 1905, clearly shows the structural frame that marked Chicago School architecture.  The detail to the right shows scenes from the life of Marquette, over the main doorway.
