While Miami Beach is renowned for its Art Deco architecture,
the city of Miami also boasts an outstanding example in the Alfred I.
DuPont Building. Its website, http://www.alfredidupontbuilding.com/html/aboutUs.htm,
indicates it opened on December 25, 1939 and calls it Miami's only Art
Deco skyscraper. It is 17 stories, designed by the architectural
firm of Marsh and Saxelbye. Shown here is the doorway on East
Flagler Street.
