The Carbide
and Carbon Building at 230 N. Michigan Avenue in Chicago was built in
1929. The architects were Daniel and Hubert Burnham, sons of one of
Chicago's preeminent architects and urban planners, Daniel Burnham.
It is 40 stories. Its black, green and gold color scheme has been
suggested to have been inspired by the American Radiator Building
(featured in Art Deco 2).
